Guernsey Build 5 – Insulation
Categories: Self Build Home Diary
The next stage in the construction of this new timber frame home on Guernsey was the installation of the insulation.
Insulation was fitted between the structural timbers in the walls and ceilings, ensuring every gap was filled to eliminate any thermal bridging.
As with most of our projects, we utilised Actis insulation in this build.
The performance, along with the speed and ease of installation, makes it ideal for our timber frame homes.
The Actis range of insulating products can achieve the highest u-value requirements with minimal thickness.
Actis panels are simple and quick to cut accurately, minimising waste and reducing installation time on site, which can be up to 30% quicker than using alternative insulation products.
By pairing our engineered timber frames with triple glazing and high levels of insulation, Scandia-Hus homes achieve exceptional thermal values.
Employing a fabric-first approach, our structures are airtight and efficient, which is why they are renowned for their energy-saving properties.
