As a multi-generational family living together, our build presented a diverse and complex set of needs and preferences. Scandia Hus was open, collaborative and committed to a co-creation process which ensured we achieved the maximum value from each decision. Andy and the team were a pleasure to deal with, always responding quickly to the many questions we had, and willing to be flexible if there were things we wanted to change. Andy’s bar of quality is at the highest level, at times resulting in him sending things back to suppliers which he felt were not of a high enough standard, or asking work to be redone if needed, yet always adhering to the build timetable. We could not be happier with our finished home.

When we decided on a self build we wanted to benefit from the advantages of a timber framed house. We had heard about the excellent reputation and long experience of Scandia-Hus who make their product in England. They were prepared to use our own architect’s plans and to work closely with us to ensure that the final product would meet our requirements. As the house went up stage by stage we were greatly impressed by the quality and finish of the build, the advanced engineering and the modern air exchange system. The close cooperation between Scandia-Hus, ourselves and our builder has been highly professional. Our new house has emerged as an impressive modern home which delivers warmth and security.
Working with Gavin at Scandia-Hus made building our new home from scratch really enjoyable. He took care of guiding us through from planning to completion and worked with us to accommodate our changing designs to bring our ideas to reality, working in close partnership with our builder. We love our new home and creating it was nowhere near as stressful as people told us it would be.
The service we received from Scandia-Hus was exceptional from start to finish, especially Aron and Oliver. Their team was professional, approachable, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure everything was completed to the highest standard. Darren was endlessly patient, helpful & good humoured as we went through all the trials & tribulations of the planning application process with the local council and tweaking the designs to gain max. light/sunshine & places for specific items of furniture. He provided excellent support & ideas and I have strongly recommended Scandia-Hus to others.
It transpires that the house I’ve lived in since 1998 is actually one of the original Scandia-Hus from the stand you had at the 1974 Ideal Homes Exhibition! It’s still warm and cosy and quirky even though I’ve never had much opportunity to do much to it. It still rates as one of the most efficient houses I know and still rates as pretty forward-thinking in its efficiency and designs compared to even some of the newer builds in the area. So really, a big, late THANKS for creating a lovely product which has so far lasted well against the elements.

The house Scandia-Hus helped us create is wonderful. The process was as painless as possible. Our house is a joy to live in as well as being beautiful. People often comment on how it sits so well in its countryside setting, looking old yet new at the same time. Scandia-Hus created my vision and brought it to life. Thank you to everyone concerned. We have built three Scandias since the 80s so must like them! The flexibility of design and standard of finish are difficult to beat. We managed the third build ourselves, made possible only with the advice and assistance of Scandia throughout the process. Great support, great teamwork and great result.
Scandia-Hus designed our new bungalow and we can’t believe how pleased we are with it. A large part is due to Aron who helped with the layout and any changes that we required. We found him extremely pleasant, friendly, knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble for him to listen to any queries that might occur. In conclusion, we would recommend Scandia-Hus to anyone wishing to have a new build.
It gives us great pleasure as the owners of our new Scandia-Hus to sing the praises of the whole team. One of our biggest fears was that the project would not come in on time and on budget. We needn’t have worried, and the project proved categorically the (largely) stress free benefits of a turnkey contract. We were very impressed with the on-site project management and in particular Oli’s knowledgeable authority, can-do attitude and general calmness whilst juggling all around him to great effect and ensuring that deadlines and quality didn’t slip. The teams of contractors and on site workers were all well-coordinated, highly competent and professional so that as we wanted, the house was completed both on time and to budget and looks absolutely terrific. Derek allowed us to fine tune the design and landscaping as we progressed, which was the icing on the cake as we looked to put our final thoughts into reality as the project and indeed our vision progressed. All in all, we were very fortunate to have chosen Scandia-Hus for our once in a lifetime project.
Now in our 4th year – we remain thrilled with our home and so glad we had the opportunity of building to suit our individual lifestyle. From the moment we met the experienced team at Scandia-Hus a rather daunting project became an exciting reality, from negotiating the planning bureaucracy to drawing up plans, and developing ideas for materials. There was always sage advice and help at the end of the phone and in person. While we have no plans for moving at the moment, if the situation ever arose our very first call would be to Scandia-Hus.
We took the plunge to build our dream home and having decided to be as eco-friendly and energy efficient as possible, engaged with Scandia-Hus to provide the timber frame and know-how that we were lacking. We loved working with Scandia; people would constantly remark how incredible they found it that we stuck to time and budget – this was all as a result of the excellent project management and clear communications.
