Guernsey Build 6 – Exterior Finishes
Categories: Turnkey Project
Whilst work progressed on the interior of this new timber frame home in Guernsey, the outside had its exterior finishes applied.
The brick plinth at the bottom of the design has been constructed using Wienerberger Classic Blue Multi facing bricks. These bricks have a grey tone, which creates cohesion with the other grey coloured details on the elevations, such as the window frames, roof and fascias.
Above the brick plinth, the ground floor of the timber frame has been rendered with a silicon-based product. The silicon-based render allows the walls to breathe, preventing moisture from building up in the house. It is also a durable product that requires low maintenance.
The render has been pre-coloured in a white finish, so it does not require painting and is resistant to fading.
On the first floor, the timber frame has been clad using Siberian Larch, which has been treated with a special coating called Organowood.
The Organowood surface treatment system provides protection and enhances the durability of the timber.
Over time, the wood will weather to a silver-grey finish, complementing the appearance of this new timber frame home in Guernsey.
