While Scandia-Hus is best known for creating individual homes, over the past 50 years, we have also designed and supplied a diverse range of commercial and educational buildings.

Our portfolio features new medical centres, surgeries, and nursing homes across the UK. Recent projects also include school buildings and various sports facilities, ranging from small cricket and bowls pavilions to village sports halls, driving ranges, and large golf clubhouses. Other commercial developments involved flats, terraced and semi-detached homes.

Poland Meadow

Scandia-Hus were delighted to be involved in the development of 12 affordable homes in Surrey, constructed for the benefit of local residents in greatest need. We worked alongside The Poland Trust Charity on this innovative project, where we were commissioned to design, manufacture and build a mixture of terraced homes and apartments. This project was welcomed by the community and recognised for its success by the Almshouse Association, receiving the prestigious ‘Inspirational Homes Award’ in 2023.

The Watermark Lake Project

Scandia-Hus designed a range of homes for a development in the Cotswold Water Park, a unique site located amongst five magnificent man-made lakes constructed from a number of disused quarries. Our architectural technicians created plans for various homes, ranging from 3 to 5 bedrooms.

Sports Pavilion and Nursery

We designed and constructed a multi-purpose timber frame building on a sports field in Felcourt to provide a base for the local football teams. The pavilion is also home to a nursery for young children who are able to enjoy safe outdoor play in a sectioned-off part of the grounds.

Cuckfield Golf Club

Scandia-Hus designed and built a new clubhouse for the Cuckfield Golf Club in West Sussex, which serves a 9-hole course. The clubhouse houses a pro-shop, restaurant, bar and large terrace with stunning views over the golf course and open countryside.

St. Helena Golf Clubhouse

This project in Suffolk, including a clubhouse and two golf courses, was completed in record time. The clubhouse, designed by our in-house architectural team, comprises a pro-shop, two restaurants and a covered, eighteen-bay, floodlit, driving range and was finished within six months of commencement.

Flexibility – With in-house architectural technicians and our own factory team, we work with clients to create truly bespoke timber frame buildings. Every property is designed to meet the unique requirements of our customers, and we offer a design and build package that can include or exclude any number of elements.
Speed - Timber frame construction is a swift build method, with structural shells usually up within a few weeks, even in wet conditions. The ability for our teams to construct in all weathers means there are fewer chances of costly delays on site.
Quality – We have gained a strong reputation for exceptional standards of design and construction. Our timber frames are meticulously manufactured under strict conditions at our factory, so a consistently high quality can be maintained, and we have our own experienced teams who undertake timber frame shell erections all over the UK.
Cost - Timber frame construction methods allow a greater degree of cost certainty as the frame, along with the design work, delivery and erection, is charged as a package. Being less impacted by inclement weather, unexpected disruptions and subsequent costs are kept to a minimum.
Impact - Timber frame is an environmentally friendly construction method. Not only is the timber we use sourced from sustainable forests, but it also helps to create an airtight, energy-efficient structure. We combine our timber frames with triple-glazed windows and high levels of insulation as standard, producing thermally efficient, low-impact buildings.
