The couple, who were living in a Grade 2 listed cottage for 11 years before they embarked on the project, are looking forward to living in a warm and energy efficient building. The renewable aspect of the design is extremely important to the clients, with a background in the energy industry they wanted to ensure they included a variety of green sources for the running of their home. A trench has now been dug to house the ground source heat pump which will provide them with hot water and underfloor heating. The solar panels located on the roof of the stables will provide electricity to run the pump.
