With the timber frame kit erected, it was time for the windows and doors to be installed at this build project in Guernsey.
Triple-glazed aluminium-clad timber windows and doors from our preferred supplier, Norrsken, were chosen by the client.
The aluminium cladding provides a low-maintenance finish to the exterior of the units which have also been treated with a special marine-grade coating due to the coastal location. This will ensure protection from the elements and longevity of the products.

It’s important for building regulations to know the ventilation method when specifying windows. In this instance, trickle vents were not required on the windows as the property will be fitted with a mechanical ventilation and heat recovery system.
Solar-powered opening Velux windows were installed into the roof to provide additional ventilation and light to the first-floor areas.
Roof battens and tiles were also fitted, with the client opting for a Marley Modern concrete interlocking tile in a grey finish that matches the Anthracite colour of the windows and doors.
The interlocking tile has a smooth, slate-like appearance but is a more cost-effective option than a slate roof.
Concrete tiles are a contemporary alternative that benefit from durability and low maintenance.
