The silicone resin system used on this project is designed to offer a highly durable finish while maintaining its attractive appearance over time. Its water-repellent properties help protect the building from driving rain, while its breathable structure allows moisture vapour to escape, reducing the risk of trapped dampness within the wall construction.

The render also incorporates dirt-resistant technology that helps minimise staining and discolouration, allowing the façade to retain its fresh appearance for longer. This combination of durability, breathability and weather resistance make it a practical and attractive finish.

Composite Cladding

The remaining elevations have been faced with Millboard composite cladding, selected to provide the beauty and rich character of natural timber without the maintenance requirements associated with traditional wood products. Manufactured from a resin mineral composite and hand-moulded from real oak masters, the boards capture the texture and visual warmth of timber while offering excellent durability and weather resistance.

Unlike natural timber, Millboard’s cladding does not require sanding, staining or sealing, making it a low-maintenance alternative for clients. Its resistance to rot, warping and weathering ensures its well-suited to long-term exterior use in the UK climate.

For this project, the Ashwood colourway was chosen for the main cladding. Ashwood replicates the appearance of freshly sawn timber with a soft, natural warmth that complements both the off-white render and darker stone detailing. The Burnt Cedar soffits and fascias provide subtle contrast, helping to define the roofline and add further depth to the facade.
