The outside of this new home on the Channel Island of Guernsey is beginning to take shape as landscaping work gets underway.

The driveway leading to the property has been laid with grey permeable block paving, designed to allow water to drain effectively, whilst the main entrance from the road has been finished using hardwearing granite setts.

For the modern patio area and surrounding path, large-format porcelain tiles have been installed on a reinforced concrete base to ensure stability and durability.

Outside the sliding doors that lead from the main living and social spaces, composite decking boards have been laid in an enhanced grain smoked oak finish.

The decking, sourced from Millboard, is a contemporary design with a textured appearance.

It is slip-resistant, durable and low maintenance – making it ideal for use in a coastal environment and around a swimming pool.

The swimming pool has been constructed by a local specialist sub-contractor who worked closely with the engineer to achieve a smart design that integrates seamlessly with the decking. The pool water will be warmed by its own efficient, dedicated heat pump.

The main garden has been levelled and topsoil added ready for lawn to be laid at a later date.
