Brand New Show Centre for Scandia-Hus

Work began late in 2009 on an exciting new phase which saw the first of our brand new show homes being built at Scaynes Hill, near Haywards Heath, West Sussex.

The site on which our new Show Centre is located marks the end of a seedy piece of history for the sleepy village of Scaynes Hill, near Haywards Heath!

Scandia-Hus have transformed the face of Hamshaws by turning the former brothel and swingers club, run by an ex-policeman, into a stunning location housing our new Show Centre consisting of luxury properties.

The former policeman was given a ten-month prison sentence suspended for two years and 40 hours’ community work after police discovered the venue hosted the Pandora’s Party brothel.

Pandora’s Party, held on Wednesdays and attended by 60 men, was run by a prostitute who called herself Pandora and paid the former policeman for the use of the club.

It was uncovered after a neighbour paid a private eye to pose as a new member and gain entry to the club.

Hamshaws, once also known as the Brighton Sun Club and Club Liberty, was the proposed venue for a three-day “sex festival of bliss” for 350 couples in 2006.

But police stopped the event, which was to feature a “Moulin Rude ball” and giant hot tub for 36 people, from going ahead after complaints from neighbours.

All traces of its chequered past have been removed from the site which is now a stunnning setting including four luxurious new houses, one of which is now currently open as a Show Home.

The development not only enhances and improves the area, it is also a very exciting project to have been involved in.
