Shell Erection: a step-by-step example |
|||||||||
|
Whichever build route you chose - self-build, project management or the appointment of a main contractor - Scandia-Hus will help organise and supervise the delivery. One of our trained shell erection teams will be available to erect the main structural frame so that you can be sure that the frame will be structurally sound and largely watertight within days of its arrival on site. On delivery, the trailers are unloaded within hours and the large wall panels are positioned straight onto the foundation sole plates. With the scaffolding already in place, most of the external wall panels will be erected by the end of the first day and, depending on the size of the dwelling, the roof trusses will be in position by the end of the week, and part of the roof boarded and felted. On completion of the shell erection, the main contractor takes over and, within a few weeks of delivery, the roof will be tiled, the exterior brickwork under way and the 1st fix carpentry, plumbing and electrics completed. The photographs included in this section will take you step-by-step through the erection of a Scandia-Hus home. For more detailed information please also refer to our Shell Erection Schedule - Fact Sheet no. 13 - which is available for downloading from the Fact Sheet section of our website. |
