The Millstone is a true representation of how an idea on the “back of an envelope” was transformed, stage by stage, into a unique, energy-saving, low-maintenance country home through a close working relationship between Scandia-Hus and one of our clients. This blueprint has since been adopted as one of our range of 44 standard designs.

The floor plan was conceived with the benefit of first hand experience of country living, hence the rear entrance through the utility room, where the family can shed dirty wellingtons and wet weather wear. The farmhouse character is continued through the spacious kitchen/breakfast and family room.

The Millstone designs also features a separate dining hall, a large, lower-level sitting room and a snug. The double-backed fireplace forms a central feature for all three rooms and provides a cosy cottage feel in winter.

The first floor accommodation incorporates four bedrooms - the master bedroom with its own private sitting area - and there is also a study or fifth bedroom located on the ground floor.
