Judging by the popularity of the numerous ‘case studies’ that appear in each issue of the various self-build magazines available on the market, aspiring ‘self-builders’ never appear to tire of reading about why and how likeminded people have gone about fulfilling the dream of designing and building their own home.

With more than 2,000 Scandia-Hus homes built throughout the British Isles over the past three decades, it would be a full-time job to visit them all, take photographs, interview the proud owners and write their ‘story’. A tall order! However, we have decided at least to make a start on this mammoth task and are pleased to include a few Scandia-Hus ‘full story’ case studies in this section of our website.

In order to help you browse, we have split the homes included in this section into five separate design categories. Simply click on the category in which you are interested - traditional, contemporary, bungalows, chalets or 2- & 3-storey homes - and select the homes you wish to view. Most of the categories have just one example at present, but we will be adding to them steadily.
