case studies: 2- & 3-storey

Two and Three Storey designs

Traditional British architecture often incorporates full two-storey accommodation. This probably has as much to do with site restrictions as it does with our preference for the classic division between sleeping and reception areas, which is one of the oldest and most conventional of British house design concepts.

A full two-storey house takes up less room on the site and, where space really is at a premium, a third floor may also be incorporated into the roof space or the basement. This is particularly appropriate on sloping sites, where the house can be designed to follow the natural contours of the land.

Whether you prefer classically styled, imposing, all brick or stone facades, or a more subtle blend incorporating a tile-hung or timbered second or third floor, the choice is yours. There are no limitations on design or finish with Scandia-Hus.
