Commercial Designs - Cuckfield Club House

On Friday 29th September 2006, Robert and Lucy Dickman opened the doors to their new clubhouse at Cuckfield Golf Centre. The clubhouse was the next piece of the dream for Robert and Lucy, who had bought the centre just 4 years ago.

The new building, as well as being environmentally friendly, has been designed to provide visitors with a comfortable, relaxed and welcoming environment.

Sundial Developments began work on the 7th Feb 2006 by setting out the levels on the sloping site to determine the finished floor level of the entrance and the depth of the basement.

Within days, using heavy plant & machinery the site has been excavated to form the basement for the green keeping gear to be stored and the buggies serviced.

The basement has now been excavated to a depth of 3 meters and the steel reinforcement and shuttering is now in place to form the basement floor over a plastic membrane that will be lapped up the walls.

With 3 loads of extra strong quick drying concrete poured on site late in the afternoon, it was a race to get the first section of the basement floor tamped level. It was successfully concluded by 10.00pm under floodlight.

picWith all the sections of the floor successfully laid the double skimmed walls could now be built with reinforced steel between ready to accept an infill of extra strong concrete.

The basement has now been completed 3 metres below ground and is ready to receive the specially designed steel beams and the block and beam floor.

Within 2 weeks the kit has been erected, the roof constructed and the whole building waterproofed. It is now ready for the roofers to fit the Spanish natural slate tiles.

With the kit erected and the roof tiled, work can now begin inside with the first fix of electrics, plumbing and carpentry by laying the underfloor heating and screeding.

The fully opening patio doors have now been installed so we can construct the external decking to create a level finish with the doors.

The exterior is nearing completion with the fitting of the external lights and the construction of the front garden.

At the rear of the property the decking with recessed lighting is complete giving perfect views of the course

The dramatic, black shower cubicles are in place and with over one meter square bases we expect them to be popular. As an extra, we are enhancing the look of the basement.

The bar & kitchen, painted in Robert's favourite colour, are ready to receive the specially designed work surface.
